Peer Review Procces

Eduistiqomah in Economic (EIE) applies a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure the quality, originality, academic integrity, methodological rigor, and relevance of all manuscripts submitted for publication.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team to determine whether they:

  • Fit the Focus and Scope of EIE.
  • Meet the journal's submission and formatting requirements.
  • Demonstrate sufficient academic quality and originality.
  • Follow applicable publication ethics standards.
  • Contain an appropriate structure, references, and methodological information.
  • Present a clear research problem, objective, and contribution.

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected without external review.

2. Plagiarism and Originality Check

Manuscripts may be checked using plagiarism-detection or similarity-checking software before or during the review process.

Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, inappropriate text reuse, duplicate publication, fabricated data, falsified information, or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected.

The editorial team evaluates similarity results contextually and does not rely solely on a numerical similarity percentage.

3. Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area of the manuscript.

EIE uses a Double-Blind Peer Review, in which:

  • Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors.
  • Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.
  • Authors should ensure that the anonymized manuscript does not unnecessarily reveal their identity.
  • Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.

Reviewers are selected based on their academic expertise, research experience, publications, and methodological competence relevant to the submitted manuscript.

4. Peer Review Evaluation

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several criteria, including:

  • Originality and novelty.
  • Relevance to economic scholarship.
  • Clarity of the research problem and objectives.
  • Adequacy of the theoretical foundation.
  • Quality and relevance of the literature review.
  • Identification of the research gap.
  • Appropriateness and rigor of the methodology.
  • Quality and validity of data.
  • Appropriateness of statistical or econometric analysis, where applicable.
  • Clarity and significance of research findings.
  • Relationship between findings and previous research.
  • Theoretical contribution.
  • Practical, economic, or policy implications.
  • Quality and relevance of references.
  • Academic writing and presentation.
  • Research transparency and reproducibility, where applicable.
  • Compliance with research and publication ethics.

For quantitative and econometric studies, reviewers may also evaluate the appropriateness of variables, models, estimation techniques, statistical assumptions, robustness analysis, and interpretation of results.

For qualitative studies, reviewers may evaluate the appropriateness of participant selection, data collection, analytical procedures, and strategies for establishing credibility and trustworthiness.

Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist authors in improving the manuscript.

5. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' recommendations and the editor's assessment, the manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:

Accept – The manuscript is accepted for publication without substantial revision.

Minor Revision – Limited revisions are required before publication.

Major Revision – Substantial revisions are required and the manuscript may undergo another round of review.

Reject and Resubmit – The manuscript requires significant improvement before it can be considered again as a new or substantially revised submission.

Reject – The manuscript does not meet the journal's academic, methodological, ethical, originality, or scope requirements.

The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor.

6. Revision Process

When revision is requested, authors should:

  • Carefully address all reviewer and editorial comments.
  • Provide a point-by-point response to the reviewers.
  • Clearly indicate the changes made in the revised manuscript.
  • Provide additional analysis or clarification when requested.
  • Submit the revised manuscript within the specified deadline.

The revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation, particularly when major revisions are required.

7. Final Acceptance

A manuscript is formally accepted only after the editorial team determines that all substantive issues have been adequately addressed and that the manuscript meets the journal's academic, methodological, ethical, and publication standards.

Acceptance is determined by the editorial team and is not based solely on a single reviewer's recommendation.

8. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo editorial preparation, which may include:

  • Language and grammar checking.
  • Formatting and style correction.
  • Reference and citation checking.
  • Table and figure checking.
  • Metadata verification.
  • DOI and bibliographic information verification.
  • Final proofreading.

Authors may be asked to review the final proofs before publication.

9. Publication

After completion of the editorial and production processes, the article is published online according to the journal's publication schedule.

Eduistiqomah in Economic (EIE) publishes two issues per year, in March and October.

The journal operates an Open Access publication model, and published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

10. Review Timeline

EIE aims to conduct the peer-review process efficiently while maintaining rigorous academic standards.

The actual duration of the review process may vary depending on:

  • Reviewer availability.
  • Manuscript complexity.
  • Research methodology.
  • Revision requirements.
  • Number of review rounds.
  • Editorial workload.

The editorial team reserves the right to seek additional reviewers or conduct additional review rounds when necessary to ensure the academic quality, integrity, and reliability of the publication.

The journal seeks to ensure that every published article makes a meaningful contribution to economic knowledge, theory, policy, finance, business, development, and related interdisciplinary fields.
