Author Guidelines

Al-Kitab: Journal of Educational Studies welcomes original manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions must contribute to the field of educational studies and comply with the following guidelines.

1. Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original research articles (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods)

  • Conceptual or theoretical papers

  • Literature review articles

  • Case studies and best practices in education

2. Language

Manuscripts must be written in English using clear, academic, and grammatically correct language.

3. Manuscript Length and Format

  • Length: 6,000–8,000 words, including references

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.15

  • Paper size: A4

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title
    Concise and informative, reflecting the main focus of the study.

  2. Author(s) Information
    Full name(s) (without academic titles), institutional affiliation(s), and email address(es).

  3. Abstract
    150–250 words, clearly stating the research purpose, methodology, main findings, and conclusion.

  4. Keywords
    3–5 keywords, separated by semicolons.

  5. Introduction
    Background of the study, research problem, objectives, and significance.

  6. Method
    Research design, participants, instruments, data collection, and data analysis.

  7. Results
    Presentation of research findings.

  8. Discussion
    Interpretation of results and linkage to existing literature.

  9. Conclusion
    Summary of key findings and implications.

  10. References
    Only sources cited in the manuscript should be listed.

5. Citation and References

  • Citation and referencing style: APA 7th Edition

  • Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.

  • References should primarily come from scholarly sources published within the last 5–10 years.

6. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software.
The maximum acceptable similarity index is 25%, excluding references and properly cited quotations.

7. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal’s OJS submission system.

  • Authors must ensure that their manuscripts follow the journal template before submission.

8. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review process. Authors should remove any identifying information from the manuscript to ensure anonymity.

9. Revision and Acceptance

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments and resubmit the revised version within the specified timeframe. Final acceptance is determined by the Editor-in-Chief.

10. Publication Ethics

Authors must comply with ethical standards in research and publication, including originality, proper citation, and disclosure of any conflicts of interest. The journal adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

11. Article Processing Charges

Al-Kitab: Journal of Educational Studies does not charge any submission or publication fees.
