Plagiarism Screening

Eduistiqomah in Psychology (EIPY) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism in all submitted and published manuscripts.

All manuscripts submitted to EIPY are subject to plagiarism and similarity screening using Turnitin before proceeding to the peer review process. The screening is conducted to identify substantial similarities between the submitted manuscript and previously published or publicly available works.

The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%. Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or below may proceed to the editorial evaluation, subject to the results of the overall similarity report and editorial assessment.

Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% may be returned to the authors for revision and clarification. Authors may be required to appropriately paraphrase, cite, or rewrite sections with excessive similarity before the manuscript can proceed to the next stage of the editorial process.

The similarity percentage is not the sole basis for determining plagiarism. Editors will examine the Turnitin similarity report and assess the nature, source, and context of the similarities. Properly cited quotations, references, commonly used terminology, methodological expressions, and other legitimate similarities may be considered when evaluating the report.

EIPY strictly prohibits plagiarism, including but not limited to:

  • Copying another person's work without appropriate attribution.
  • Presenting another person's ideas, words, data, or findings as one's own.
  • Excessive or inappropriate copying from previously published works.
  • Self-plagiarism or substantial reuse of an author's previously published work without appropriate acknowledgment.
  • Fabrication or falsification of research data and information.

If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are identified during the editorial or peer review process, EIPY reserves the right to reject the manuscript. If serious plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may take appropriate corrective action, including publication of a correction or retraction, in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts meet the journal's originality and academic integrity requirements before submission.
