Retraction and Correction
Eduistiqomah in Psychology (EIPY) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal may publish corrections or retract published articles when significant errors, inaccuracies, or ethical issues are identified.
1. Corrections
A correction may be issued when an error in a published article affects the accuracy or clarity of the article but does not invalidate its main findings, conclusions, or scholarly contribution.
Corrections may include, but are not limited to:
- Errors in author names, affiliations, or other publication information.
- Typographical or factual errors that could affect the understanding of the article.
- Errors in tables, figures, references, or other published content.
- Other significant errors that require correction to maintain the accuracy of the published record.
When a correction is necessary, EIPY will publish a correction notice linked to the original article. The original article will normally remain accessible, with a clear indication that a correction has been issued.
2. Retraction
An article may be retracted when its findings or content are determined to be unreliable or when serious ethical or publication misconduct has occurred.
Reasons for retraction may include:
- Significant errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions.
- Fabrication or falsification of research data.
- Serious plagiarism or substantial duplication of previously published work.
- Unethical research practices.
- Duplicate or redundant publication.
- Serious authorship or attribution problems.
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest that substantially affect the validity or integrity of the research.
- Other forms of research or publication misconduct that seriously compromise the integrity of the article.
Retraction does not necessarily imply misconduct by the authors. An article may be retracted because of an honest error that substantially affects the validity of the published findings.
3. Retraction Procedure
When a potential reason for retraction is identified, the editorial team will assess the issue and, when appropriate, communicate with the authors and relevant parties before making a decision.
The Editor-in-Chief or designated editor will make the final decision regarding correction or retraction based on the available evidence and the journal's publication ethics policy.
If an article is retracted, EIPY will publish a Retraction Notice that clearly identifies the retracted article and explains the reason for the retraction.
The original article will remain accessible where appropriate, but it will be clearly marked as “Retracted” to preserve the transparency and integrity of the scholarly record.
4. Post-Publication Concerns
Authors, readers, reviewers, and other parties may contact the editorial office if they identify significant errors, suspected plagiarism, research misconduct, or other concerns regarding a published article.
EIPY will investigate credible concerns fairly and confidentially and will take appropriate action when necessary.
5. Editorial Responsibility
All correction and retraction decisions are made independently of commercial considerations. The journal is committed to ensuring that corrections and retractions are handled transparently, consistently, and in accordance with accepted principles of publication ethics.
The purpose of this policy is to protect the integrity of the scholarly record while ensuring that authors, readers, and the academic community are treated fairly.
