Generative AI Policy

Sholihan: Journal of Islamic Religious Education (SJIRE) permits the responsible and transparent use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a supporting tool in academic research and scholarly writing. AI may be used for language editing, grammar correction, translation, and improving the clarity and readability of manuscripts.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical standards of their manuscripts. Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors and must not replace the authors’ intellectual contribution, critical judgment, or scholarly responsibility.

Any substantive use of Generative AI in manuscript preparation must be appropriately disclosed. AI must not be used to fabricate or falsify research data, findings, references, citations, images, or other scholarly evidence.

Reviewers and editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose or upload confidential materials to AI systems where such use may compromise confidentiality, privacy, or intellectual property.

EIRE adheres to recognized principles of publication ethics, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices.
