About the Journal
Sholihan: Journal of Islamic Religious Education (SJIRE) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the publication and dissemination of high-quality scholarly research in the field of Islamic Religious Education. The journal serves as a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, educators, practitioners, and students to exchange ideas, present research findings, and contribute to the advancement of Islamic Religious Education in response to contemporary educational challenges.
EIRE publishes original research articles and conceptual studies that explore theoretical, empirical, methodological, and practical dimensions of Islamic Religious Education. The journal is particularly interested in studies that examine the relationship between Islamic educational values and contemporary developments in education, society, culture, science, and technology.
The journal covers a broad range of topics, including Islamic Religious Education and pedagogy, curriculum and instruction, Qur'anic and Hadith education, Islamic educational philosophy, character and moral education, teacher education, educational leadership and management, assessment and evaluation, digital and technology-enhanced Islamic education, inclusive and multicultural education, pesantren and madrasah education, and interdisciplinary studies related to Islamic Religious Education.
EIRE encourages research employing diverse methodological approaches, including qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, development and design research, systematic studies, and other rigorous approaches appropriate to the research questions. Manuscripts are expected to demonstrate methodological rigor, theoretical relevance, originality, and clear contributions to the development of Islamic Religious Education.
Sholihan: Journal of Islamic Religious Education (SJIRE) is published twice a year, in May and November, and operates under an Open Access model. All submitted manuscripts undergo a Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure academic quality, integrity, originality, and relevance. The journal welcomes scholarly contributions from researchers and academics in Indonesia and internationally.
Through the dissemination of rigorous and relevant scholarship, EIRE aims to contribute to the development of innovative, reflective, ethical, and contextually responsive approaches to Islamic Religious Education and to strengthen the role of Islamic education in addressing contemporary educational and societal challenges.
