The journal recognizes digital preservation as an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing and seeks to maintain reliable access to its published content over the long term.
EIEM intends to utilize the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) as part of its digital preservation strategy, subject to the availability and successful activation of the preservation service for the journal.
The PKP Preservation Network provides a digital preservation mechanism within the PKP publishing ecosystem to support the long-term preservation of scholarly journal content.
EIEM recognizes LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) as a distributed digital preservation system that can support the long-term preservation and accessibility of scholarly publications.
The journal may participate in LOCKSS when the relevant technical requirements and participation arrangements have been established.
EIEM also recognizes CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) as a trusted digital preservation system designed to provide long-term preservation of scholarly publications.

EIEM uses Open Journal Systems (OJS) as its journal publishing platform for managing, publishing, and maintaining scholarly content.
The journal seeks to preserve:

DOI or other persistent identifiers, where available; and
Copyright and licensing information.
EIEM distinguishes between preservation services that are active and those that are planned or being pursued.
The journal will not claim participation in PKP PN, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or another preservation service until the relevant activation, registration, or participation process has been successfully completed.
The journal's preservation status will be updated whenever additional digital preservation services become active.
EIEM supports distributed digital preservation, in which multiple preservation copies can reduce the risk of permanent loss resulting from technical failure, server disruption, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Where technically and institutionally available, the journal will use recognized preservation networks and repositories to strengthen the long-term availability of its scholarly content.
Authors retain the right to archive and share their published articles in accordance with the journal's Copyright Notice and Licensing Policy and the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Authors may deposit their published work in appropriate institutional repositories, university repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, research profiles, and other legitimate scholarly platforms.
The journal takes reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect its digital content against accidental loss, corruption, unauthorized alteration, and technical failure.
Appropriate backup and recovery procedures may be implemented as part of the journal's digital publishing operations.
Published articles constitute part of the permanent scholarly record. EIEM will make reasonable efforts to preserve published content even in the event of changes to journal management, editorial personnel, website infrastructure, or publishing systems.
Articles that are corrected or retracted will remain part of the historical scholarly record and will be clearly identified in accordance with the journal's Retraction and Correction Policy.
EIEM is committed to continuously improving its digital preservation infrastructure and expanding its participation in recognized preservation services.
The journal will periodically review its archiving arrangements and update this policy whenever new preservation mechanisms become operational.
For transparency, EIEM will identify its active preservation services on the journal website once those services have been successfully activated.

EIEM considers digital preservation an essential responsibility of scholarly publishing.
