Peer Review Procces

Peer Review Process

Eduistiqomah in Management (EIM) applies a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure the quality, originality, academic integrity, and relevance of all manuscripts submitted for publication.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team to determine whether they:

  • Fit the Focus and Scope of EIM.
  • Meet the journal's submission and formatting requirements.
  • Demonstrate sufficient academic quality and originality.
  • Follow applicable publication ethics standards.
  • Contain appropriate structure, references, and methodological information.

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected without external review.

2. Plagiarism and Originality Check

Manuscripts may be checked using plagiarism-detection software before or during the review process. Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected.

3. Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area of the manuscript.

EIM uses a Double-Blind Review, in which:

  • Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors.
  • Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

Authors should therefore ensure that the submitted manuscript does not unnecessarily reveal their identity in the anonymized review file.

4. Peer Review Evaluation

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several criteria, including:

  • Originality and novelty.
  • Relevance to management scholarship.
  • Clarity of research objectives.
  • Adequacy of theoretical foundation.
  • Appropriateness of methodology.
  • Quality and validity of data analysis.
  • Clarity and significance of findings.
  • Relationship between results and previous research.
  • Theoretical contribution.
  • Practical or managerial implications.
  • Quality of references.
  • Academic writing and presentation.
  • Compliance with research and publication ethics.

Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist authors in improving the manuscript.

5. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' recommendations and the editor's assessment, the manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:

  • Accept – The manuscript is accepted for publication without substantial revision.
  • Minor Revision – Limited revisions are required before publication.
  • Major Revision – Substantial revisions are required and the manuscript may undergo another round of review.
  • Reject and Resubmit – The manuscript requires significant improvement before it can be considered again.
  • Reject – The manuscript does not meet the journal's academic, methodological, ethical, or scope requirements.

The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor.

6. Revision Process

When revision is requested, authors should:

  1. Carefully address all reviewer and editorial comments.
  2. Provide a point-by-point response to the reviewers.
  3. Clearly indicate the changes made in the revised manuscript.
  4. Submit the revised manuscript within the specified deadline.

The revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation, particularly when major revisions are required.

7. Final Acceptance

A manuscript is formally accepted only after the editorial team determines that all substantive issues have been adequately addressed and the manuscript meets the journal's publication standards.

8. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo editorial preparation, which may include:

  • Language and grammar checking.
  • Formatting and style correction.
  • Reference and citation checking.
  • Metadata verification.
  • Final proofreading.

Authors may be asked to review the final proofs before publication.

9. Publication

After completion of the editorial and production processes, the article is published online according to the journal's publication schedule.

Eduistiqomah in Management (EIM) publishes two issues per year, in June and December.

10. Review Timeline

EIM aims to conduct the review process efficiently while maintaining rigorous academic standards. The actual duration may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, revision requirements, and editorial workload.

The editorial team reserves the right to seek additional reviewers or conduct additional review rounds when necessary to ensure the quality and integrity of the publication.
