Educational Context
EIME welcomes research conducted in diverse mathematics education contexts, including formal, non-formal, online, blended, and technology-mediated learning environments. Studies may address mathematics education at the early childhood, primary, secondary, vocational, higher education, and teacher education levels.
The journal also welcomes national, international, cross-cultural, and comparative studies, provided that the central research problem and its implications are clearly situated within mathematics education.
Scope Boundary
To maintain a clear disciplinary identity, EIME only considers manuscripts in which mathematics education is the central focus of the study. Research involving mathematics, technology, culture, psychology, assessment, STEM, artificial intelligence, or other related fields is within the scope of the journal only when these aspects are explicitly examined in relation to mathematics teaching, mathematics learning, mathematics assessment, mathematics curriculum, mathematics teacher education, or mathematics educational development.
Manuscripts focusing primarily on pure mathematics, abstract mathematical theory, mathematical proofs, mathematical computation, general education, general psychology, general educational technology, or STEM education without a substantial and explicit connection to mathematics education are outside the scope of EIME.
