Author Guidelines
Eduistiqomah in Language Education (EILE) welcomes original research articles and scholarly manuscripts related to language education. Authors are required to follow the guidelines below to ensure consistency, academic quality, and an efficient editorial and peer-review process.
1. Manuscript Scope
Manuscripts must be relevant to the focus and scope of Eduistiqomah in Language Education (EILE) and should make a clear academic contribution to language education, language teaching and learning, applied linguistics, language assessment, literacy, curriculum, educational technology, or related fields.
The manuscript must be original and must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
2. Manuscript Structure
The manuscript must follow the following structure:
- Title
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Method
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
Additional sections such as acknowledgments, funding statements, conflict of interest, data availability, or appendices may be included when relevant.
3. Title
The title should be clear, concise, informative, and directly reflect the content of the research.
Authors should avoid:
- Unnecessary abbreviations.
- Excessively long titles.
- General or ambiguous expressions.
- Statements that are not supported by the research.
The title should clearly indicate the main topic, phenomenon, variables, population, or context of the study when appropriate.
4. Abstract
The abstract must be written in one paragraph and should generally contain 180–250 words.
The abstract should include:
- Research background or context.
- Research objective.
- Research method.
- Main findings.
- Contribution, novelty, or implications of the study.
The abstract should be concise and informative. Citations, tables, figures, and unexplained abbreviations should not normally be included.
5. Keywords
Authors must provide a maximum of 5 keywords.
Keywords should represent the main concepts of the article and should be separated by semicolons.

Language Education; Digital Literacy; Language Learning; Educational Technology; Pedagogy
6. Introduction
The introduction should establish the academic background and rationale for the research.
It should include:
- Background of the research problem.
- Relevant previous research.
- Identification of the research gap.
- Research problem or research questions.
- Research objectives.
- Novelty and/or contribution of the study.
The introduction should demonstrate why the research is important and how it contributes to existing knowledge. Authors should use relevant, credible, and recent scholarly references.
7. Method
The method section must explain clearly how the research was conducted.
Depending on the research design, authors should describe:
- Research approach and design.
- Research setting and context.
- Participants, population, or data sources.
- Sampling procedures.
- Research instruments.
- Data collection procedures.
- Data analysis techniques.
- Validity, reliability, or trustworthiness procedures.
- Ethical considerations, where applicable.
The methodology should provide sufficient information for readers to understand the research process and evaluate its rigor.
8. Results and Discussion
Results
The results section should present the main research findings clearly and systematically. Findings should be organized according to the research objectives or research questions.
Tables, figures, statistical analyses, quotations, or other evidence may be used where appropriate.
All tables and figures must:
- Be numbered consecutively.
- Have clear titles.
- Be referred to in the manuscript.
- Present accurate and relevant information.
Discussion
The discussion should interpret the findings rather than merely repeat them.
Authors should:
- Explain the meaning and significance of the findings.
- Relate findings to previous studies.
- Identify similarities and differences with previous research.
- Explain theoretical implications.
- Discuss practical or pedagogical implications.
- Highlight the novelty and contribution of the research.
The discussion should demonstrate how the findings contribute to the development of language education.
9. Conclusion
The conclusion should directly address the research objectives or questions.
It should summarize:
- The principal findings.
- The main contribution of the study.
- Theoretical and/or practical implications.
- Limitations, where relevant.
- Recommendations for future research, where appropriate.
The conclusion should not introduce new findings, arguments, or references that have not been discussed previously.
10. References
All references must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style.
Authors must ensure that all references are:
- Relevant to the manuscript.
- Accurate and complete.
- Properly cited in the text.
- Listed consistently in the reference section.
- Supported by reliable academic sources.
Authors are encouraged to prioritize recent peer-reviewed journal articles and primary scholarly sources.
The use of reference-management applications such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote is recommended.

11. Manuscript Formatting
All manuscripts must use the following formatting:

Authors should maintain consistent formatting throughout the manuscript.
12. Originality and Plagiarism
Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been published previously or be under consideration by another journal.
EILE conducts plagiarism or similarity screening as part of its editorial process. Authors are responsible for properly acknowledging all sources and avoiding plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate text reuse, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct.
13. Research Ethics
Authors conducting research involving human participants, students, teachers, institutions, or personal data must comply with applicable research ethics standards.
Where applicable, manuscripts should provide information regarding ethical approval, informed consent, confidentiality, and data protection.
14. Authorship
All listed authors must have made a substantial contribution to the research and manuscript.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that:
- All eligible contributors are appropriately listed as authors.
- All authors have approved the submitted manuscript.
- Author names and affiliations are accurate.
- All authors agree with the final version of the manuscript.
15. Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI
Authors may use artificial intelligence tools for limited purposes such as language editing, grammar checking, translation assistance, or technical support.
However, authors remain fully responsible for the manuscript's:
- Accuracy.
- Originality.
- Academic integrity.
- Citations and references.
- Research findings.
- Ethical compliance.
AI tools must not be listed as authors and must not be used to fabricate research data, findings, citations, references, or evidence.
Substantial use of generative AI should be disclosed according to the journal's applicable publication ethics policy.
16. Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any potential conflict of interest that could influence the research or publication process.
If no conflict exists, authors may use the following statement:
The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest related to this study.
17. Funding
Authors should disclose all financial support received for the research.
If the research received no external funding, authors may state:
This research received no external funding.
18. Submission Procedure
Manuscripts must be submitted through the Eduistiqomah in Language Education (EILE) online journal system.
Before submission, authors should ensure that:
- The manuscript follows the required structure.
- The manuscript uses Times New Roman, 12 pt, and 1.5 line spacing.
- The abstract is 180–250 words.
- Keywords do not exceed five terms.
- References follow APA 7th Edition.
- All citations are included in the reference list.
- The manuscript has not been submitted elsewhere.
- Author information is complete and accurate.
- Ethical and originality requirements have been fulfilled.
19. Peer Review
EILE applies a Double-Blind Peer Review process.
Manuscripts first undergo editorial screening to assess their suitability, originality, scope, academic quality, and compliance with the journal guidelines. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to qualified reviewers.
Possible editorial decisions include:
- Accept Submission
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Resubmit for Review
- Reject
The final publication decision is made by the editor based on the reviewers' recommendations and the overall quality of the manuscript.
20. Revision
Authors receiving revision requests must carefully respond to all comments from reviewers and editors.
The revised manuscript should clearly indicate the changes made. Authors may also be required to submit a response letter explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed.
21. Publication Frequency
Eduistiqomah in Language Education (EILE) is published twice a year, in:
- May
- November
22. Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their work while granting Eduistiqomah in Language Education (EILE) the right of first publication.
Published articles are made available under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing the work to be shared and reused with appropriate attribution to the original authors and source.
23. Final Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:
